White Crest Arrowroot Substitute is made from Tapioca Starch. Tapioca Starch is easy to digest. It is ideal for sufferers of Coeliac disease (Gluten allergy). Specialty cooks use this product to make a clear gel and also for thickening sauces, desserts, soups, gravies, and casseroles.
For Coeliac cooking replace wheat flour in recipes with 1 part of White Crest Arrowroot Substitute for every two parts of flour.
To make a clear sauce or glaze replace 1 part of cornflour with 1 part of White Crest Arrowroot Substitute.
For thickening blend with a small amount of cold water and then add to the balance of the sauce, etc. For maximum thickening heat sauce to 70º-80ºC. Higher temperatures or further heating causes thinning. Do not stir excessively.
